Police were called to a shop break in on St Thomas Street in Weymouth late on Sunday night.
At around 10:45pm a man was seen forcing entry into TG Jones and causing damage inside.
A member of out AIR crew intervened, disarmed him and held him at the scene.
Officers arrived shortly after and made an arrest.
The suspect is now assisting police with their enquiries.
