Chickerell Town Council has elected Councillor Neil Hudson as its new town mayor. The appointment was made at the council’s Annual Statutory Meeting on Tuesday May 19. Councillor Carole Caple was elected Deputy Mayor, while Councillor John Dean was appointed Civic Representative.

Councillor Hudson succeeds Councillor Andrew Reid, who was thanked for his service during the previous civic year.
In his inaugural address, the new mayor said he wanted to focus on collaboration, community safety, local schools, businesses and environmental protection.
He also highlighted the importance of managing growth carefully and ensuring residents have a voice as Chickerell continues to develop.
