Arts and culture in Dorset are continuing to grow, according to a councillor in Weymouth. Around half a million pounds a year is being invested, helping attract further funding.

Arts and culture across Dorset are continuing to grow, according to a councillor in Weymouth.

Ryan Hope says around £500,000 is invested each year by Dorset Council, helping to bring in millions more in external funding.

A new five-year cultural strategy has been introduced, aiming to support local communities, strengthen the economy and promote environmental action.

Councillors say the long-term outlook for the arts sector in Dorset remains positive.
