Person dies on railway line between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst A person has tragically died on the railway line on the route between Weymouth and London Waterloo. Officers from British Transport Police confirmed they were called to New Milton railway station at around 11.10am on Thursday 5 March following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Emergency services, including paramedics, attended the scene but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the station.
The incident caused disruption to rail services, with the line blocked between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst, affecting trains running between Weymouth and the capital.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:
“We were called to New Milton railway station at 11.10am on 5 March to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Train services were disrupted while emergency services dealt with the incident.
