Weymouth Town Council is urging people to stay safe and hydrated during the hot weather.

Weymouth Town Council is reminding residents and visitors to take care during the heatwave.

The council says there are multiple water refill points across the town, including along the promenade, outside some toilet blocks and on the beach.

People are being encouraged to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen when out and about.

Beachgoers are also being advised to choose a lifeguarded beach, swim between the red and yellow flags and speak to lifeguards for advice.

The RNLI is reminding people that lifeguard cover ends at 6pm, and anyone planning an evening swim should carefully consider the risks.
