School Closures Due to Extreme Heat
With temperatures continuing to rise across Dorset and the surrounding areas, several schools have announced closures and schedule changes to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and staff. Excessive heat can create challenging classroom conditions, particularly in buildings without adequate cooling or ventilation.

Confirmed School Closures & Disruptions
- Atlantic Academy, Portland – Closed on Thursday, 26 June
- Budmouth Academy, Weymouth – Closed on Thursday, 26 June
- Wey Valley Academy - Closed - Remote Options In Place
- All Saints Academy – School site remains open, however students will move to remote learning on Thursday, 26 June due to extreme heat conditions.
