Police in Weymouth say a substantial quantity of tobacco and cigarettes was found after officers stopped a car outside a vape shop on The Esplanade.
Weymouth officers were on patrol for the town’s fireworks, which police say passed without incident.
Later, officers stopped and spoke to two men unloading boxes from a car outside a vape store on The Esplanade.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a substantial quantity of tobacco and cigarettes.
Police say illicit tobacco can undermine legitimate businesses, reduce tax revenue and contribute to wider organised criminality.
Officers say they will continue working with Trading Standards and partners to disrupt the supply of illicit products in the town.
