Weymouth will mark National Fishing Remembrance Day this Sunday with a special service. The event takes place at Fisherman’s Quay at midday, led by the town’s mayor. It honours those lost at sea and reflects on the dangers faced by the fishing community. Local families are expected to attend, with music from Dorset Wrecks. The Fishermen’s Mission is encouraging people to come along and pay their respects.
