Members of the public are invited to Weymouth seafront for the town’s annual US Memorial Day service on Bank Holiday Monday.
Weymouth Town Council will hold its annual US Memorial Day service on Monday May 25.
The ceremony will take place at 11am at the newly restored US Memorial opposite the Royal Hotel on Weymouth seafront.
Deputy Mayor Councillor Peter Dickenson will host the service.
Military vehicles, photographs and information from Portland’s D-Day Museum will also be on display at the memorial site.
The service commemorates American military personnel who died in service, including the many US troops who left Weymouth Harbour for the D-Day landings in 1944.
