Dorset Police says the collision happened on Bridport Road in Dorchester at around 7.35am on Friday 16 May 2025. It involved a white Fiat Panda and a bicycle. The cyclist, 50-year-old Justin Loveland, was taken to Southampton Hospital, where he sadly died the following evening. Following enquiries by Dorset Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team, a 54-year-old woman from Weymouth has been issued with a postal requisition. She is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday 29 May 2026 charged with causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.
