Weapons seized in Weymouth knife crime week

Dorset Police took part in the national Sceptre campaign from May 18 to May 24, aimed at tackling knife crime and raising awareness of the dangers of carrying weapons. In Weymouth, officers carried out a warrant at an address in the Lynch Lane area. A number of weapons were seized, including a Rambo knife, samurai swords and throwing knives. Officers also recovered suspected drugs and three motorbikes believed to be stolen.

Dorset Police took part in the national Sceptre campaign from May 18 to May 24, aimed at tackling knife crime and raising awareness of the dangers of carrying weapons.

In Weymouth, officers carried out a warrant at an address in the Lynch Lane area.

A number of weapons were seized, including a Rambo knife, samurai swords and throwing knives.

Officers also recovered suspected drugs and three motorbikes believed to be stolen.

No arrests have been made in connection with the Weymouth warrant at this stage and enquiries are ongoing.

Across Dorset, police also carried out weapon sweeps, high-visibility patrols, engagement events and test purchases at retailers.

Dorset Police says knife crime in the county remains low and continues to fall year on year, but tackling it remains a priority.
