Weymouth’s new Mayor is preparing for a busy first full month in office.
Councillor David Harris was elected Mayor of Weymouth in May, succeeding Councillor Caroline Nickinson.
During June, he is due to attend a wide range of civic, community and commemorative events across the town.
His engagements include the Eco-Fayre on Saturday 6 June and the King’s Dip celebrations on Sunday 7 June.
The King’s Dip forms part of Weymouth’s annual tribute to King George the Third and the town’s seaside heritage.
Later in the month, the Mayor will attend Weymouth’s Armed Forces Weekend.
He is due to lay a wreath during the Armed Forces and Veterans Service and Parade on Sunday 21 June.
The annual event brings together serving personnel, veterans, military charities and residents to recognise the Armed Forces community.
The Mayor will also support local schools and community groups, including opening a primary school summer fayre on Saturday 27 June.
Weymouth Town Council says Councillor Harris is looking forward to meeting residents, volunteers and community organisations throughout his first full month as Mayor.
Residents can view the Mayor’s upcoming engagements and find information about arranging a mayoral visit through the council’s website.
